新闻Aldi has asserted its trademark.German retailer Aldi is almost ready to come into Russian markets. The network has managed to cancel protection of Aldi trademark that was registered in the name of two Russian companies. But Aldi was not going to stop at this point – at this moment the retailer is registering a trademark with the same name in Russia in respect of several classes, including retail trade. First time Aldi trademark was registered in Russia in the name of a St.Petersburg Patent company in February of 2000. Last year term of right protection of the trademark expired. After this, in October Aldi Einkauf filed an objection in respect of this registration and only in the end of July of the current year the Chamber of Patent Disputes took the side of the German retailer and took a decision to stop right protection of Aldi trademark that is registered in the name of St. Petersburg patent company anticipatorily. At the same time the German Aldi filed an application for Aldi trademark registration. From the beginning of this year Aldi trademark is registered in the name of the German company in respect of the following classes: 4, 7, 9, 38, 39 and 40. Four more applications are being proceeded now at the Patent Office and registration is expected in the next months.
